                    June 7- Muster-in roll of Captain John H. Martin's Company
                    (H), in the Fourteenth Regiment (Second Brigade) of Indiana Foot
                    Volunteers, commanded by Colonel Nathan Kimball, called into
                    service of the United States by the President from June 7, 1861
                    (date of this muster) for the term of three years, unless sooner
                    discharged.

                    March 11-12.- From Martinsburg to Winchester, Virginia
                    (t';7enty-two miles).
                    March 18-20.- From Winchester to Strasburg and return (thirty-
                    six miles).
                    March 22-23.- Engaged in action near Winchester, Virginia.
                    March 24-25.- From Winchester to Strasburg,  Virginia
                    (eighteen miles).
                    April 1.- From Strasburg to camp near Edenburg, Virginia
                    (seventeen miles).
                    April 14.- From Edenburg to Columbia Furnace (ten miles).
                    Went on scout and assisted in capturing sixty-one prisoners and
                    fifty-seven horses (eight miles).
                    April 16-17- From Columbia Furnace to Mount Jackson (twelve
                    miles), from Mount Jackson to New Market, Virginia April 17
                    (seven miles).
                    April 25.- Came five miles towards Harrisonburg.
                    April 27- Moved seven miles forward to Camp Mason.
         
                    Stationed at Alexandria, Virginia, May-June 1862.
                    May 5.- The company, with the regiment, marched from Camp
                    Cave, Virginia to New Market, distance ten miles.
                    May 12-22.- From New Market to Fredericksburg via Front
                    Royal, Virginia, distance 115 miles.
                    May 25-30.- From Fredericksburg to Front Royal via Manassas
                    Junction, Virginia; distance marched 100 miles.  From Front
                    Royal to Conrad's Store, Virginia.
                    June 1-16.- Countermarched. Distance marched 130 miles from
                    Front Royal to Bristoe Station, Virginia.
         
                    Stationed at Rockville, Virginia, July-August 1862.
         
                    Stationed in the field, Loudoun Valley, Virginia, September-Octo-
                    ber 1862.
                    September 2-17- The company, with the regiment, marched
                    from Centreville, Virginia to Georgetown; thence via Frederick,
                    Maryland to Sharpsburg on the Antietam, where it participated in
                    the great battle of September 17
                    October 30.- [Marched) to Harper's Ferry, where it remained
                    until October 30, marching from there through Loudoun Valley,
                    Virginia.
         
                    Stationed at Falmouth, Virginia, November-December 1862.
                    November 2-15.- Proceeding from Loudoun Valley, Virginia,
                    the company, with the regiment, marched to Warrenton, Virginia
                    on November 15.
                    December 13.- The company took part in the battle of Freder-
                    icksburg, in which engagement it lost in wounded, four severely
                    and six slightly.
                    December 17- Left there and by easy marches arrived at Fal-
                    mouth, Virginia on December 17, whole distance seventy miles.
                    Stationed at Falmouth, Virginia, January-February 1863.
         
                    Stationed at Unked States Ford, Virginia, March-April 1863.

                    Stationed at Falmouth, Virginia, April 10, 1863.
         
                   Stationed at Uniontoivn, Maryland, M~-June 1863.
                   May 3.- The company, with the regiment, was engaged in the
                   battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia and marched from Falmouth,
                   Virginia to Uniontown, Maryland, a distance of some 200 miles.
         
                   Stationed at east New York, July-August 1863.
         
                   Stationed at Warrenton, Virginia, September-October 1863.
         
                   Stationed at Stevensburg, Virginia, November 1863-April 1864.
         
                   Stationed at indianapolis, Indiana, June 20, 1864.
                   June 20.- Muster-out roll of Captain David E. Beem's, late John
                   H. Martin's, Company (H), in the Fourteenth Regiment of Indi-
                   ana Volunteers, commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel E. H. C.
                   Cavins, late Colonel John Coons, late Colonel William Harrow,
                   late Colonel Nathan Kimball, called into the service of the United
                   States by the President at Terre Haute, Indiana (the place of gen-
                   eral rendezvous) on June 7, 1861 to serve for the term of three
                   years from the date of enrollment, unless sooner discharged, from
                   June 7, 1861 (when mustered in) to June 6, 1864 when mustered
                   out. The company was organized by Captain John H. Martin at
                   Spencer, Indiana in the month of April 1861 and marched thence
                   to Terre Haute, Indiana, where it arrived May 12, a distance of
                   seventy miles.
