Seeking parents of Jonathan WILSON, of Hardin Co. He was married
to Mary CASH on 22 Nov 1822, her grandfather Rev. Warren CASH
officiated. In the courthouse record (Hardin Co. marriage register
book 4, line 80), it states that Jonathan's step-father was a
HICKS (John C.?). Can a marriage record of John C. HICKS and a
Mrs. WILSON be located? A biography in the biography project lists
a Rev. George H. HICKS, son of John C. HICKS, born 22 December 1814---
is this person a relation? Jonathan remarried 29 November 1836 to his
wife's sister, Sarah Harriett CASH. It is known that the Jonathan WILSON
farm was located west of Elizabethtown on the Hardinsburg Road. Are
the family graves still marked? In his will (will book E, pages 180-181)
Jonathan deeded the land to his children: Ruth Elizabeth, Susan,
John, and Claybourne Cash WILSON. He died in early April (8th?),
1849.

1790 at Shepherdsville, KY. This is Bullitt Co, KY. She was married in
1811 in Hardin Co, KY to Soloman Lamb. On the minister's list of
marriages performed was the name Adkisson Shepherd who married a girl by
the last name of Haycraft. A Mr. Haycraft was shown as being a witness on

My Great Grandfather, Samuel WAGGONER, was born in KY, 20 Feb.
1855. Have never been able to identify parents. Am told there
is a Samuel WAGGONER listed in 1860 Hardin Co. Census. Would

Looking for birth, death, marriage info on William and
Elizabeth AUSTIN of Hardin Co., KY and possibly of
Jefferson Co. They were parents of Baylis F. Austin (b. 1838 in Hardin Co., KY). In the 1850 census, only parent listed was Elizabeth, so William was either deceased, in the military or
otherwise away at the time of the census. Also, looking for
birth, death, marriage info on Jeremiah and Elizabeth
Austin, who were probably the parents of William Austin.
According to the 1850 Hardin Co., KY census, Jeremiah Austin
was born in Maryland about 1785 (anyone know where?). He was living in Hardin Co., KY as early as 1810.
FYI: In 1859, Baylis Austin (1838-1911) married
Sophia TRIPLETT (1839-1923)also of Hardin Co. Baylis
is buried in an unmarked grave in one of the cemeteries on
Ft. Knox, and Sophia is buried near Wingate, Indiana.

and married there abt. 1893 to Eva L. SPARKS, b. 28 Aug. 1873. After 1903 they moved to Reno Co., KS. They both died in KS. John had two sisters we know of: Hattie ALMEC
and Mrs. Mel LEWIS.

Seeking info on great grandparents, James Minor
BACK and Ann Elizabeth (or Elizabeth Ann) PHILIPS/PHILLIPS. Thought to have lived in the Hardin/Jefferson County area. In the 1900 TX Census, Elizabeth b. KY Apr 1840. I can find no record off them in KY
censuses. In 1892 Elizabeth moved to TX with her 5 children, without James, so I assume he is already dead. Three of the children made
it to TX: Melissa Ann, Rose Mary, and Thomas Jefferson
BACK. Thomas Jefferson BACK was my grandfather.
In 1850, in Yuba Co., CA, there is a listing in the Census for
a James Back and a James Minor, one right after the other. I think this
was my great grandfather and his uncle. If so, then my great-great
grandmother's last name was probably Minor.
