Surnames:GILMORE ROBERTS ALLEN
I recently received the following information concerning the families mentioned. From the Macoupin Co. (IL) History - 1879
I am ultimately looking for the father of William D. ALLEN (the father of Kitty Ann ALLEN ROBERTS) and apparently I will do it through oblique lines. Are there any GILMORE or ROBERTS searchers out there?

Luke MATTINGLY was born in Maryland but moved to Kentucky and settled on
an island in Hardin Creek in 1786. (Said creek currently known as Beech
Fork...island is just north of present village of Fredericksburg in
Washington Co.) He raised his family there and it is said that his
descendants still live in the area. My concern is mostly for Clement
MATTINGLY (later changed to MATNEY) and his ancestors. I have a feeling
Luke may have been his father. Clement married Sarah Allen and raised a
large family, mostly in Nelson County, I believe.

Hardin and Nelson Counties: I am looking for connection to a John B King.
He was born I believe in Ky in 1787. He married a Mary "Polly"
Cash, dtr of Warren Cash, in 1805 in Nelson County. By 1807-1809 they
moved to Hardin county.
The children that I know for sure are: Hickman, Emiline, Nancy,Martha,
Warren,
and William H. They moved by 1820 to Orange County IN and in 1830 can be
found in
Warrick County, where John B and dtr Nancy are buried. William and Warren
moved to
Ill around 1852. John B marriage surity was a William King. Which one?
Other names
that I have found to have some type of connection are a Cornelius King
that alos lived in
Orange County IN and was also in Nelson county and also married by
William Cash. Was he a cousin or a brother?
I know who Emiline, Nancy William and Warren King all married and have

John B had 7 boys and 3 girls. Other names of children may be George and
Valentine.

OSBORNE (All spellings)
Edward Felix Osborne, my grandfather, was born c.1860 on a plantation
between Louisville and Fort Knox, the son of John Osborn and Letitia
Cooper Osborn. John's mother's maiden name was Fisher. The
plantation/farm on which Grandpa was born produced tobacco, roofing
shingles, and whiskey. John and Letitia were Catholic. Other known
children of John and Letitia were Letitia, Maggie, Arkie (female), Rose,
Clarence, and Jim.
While still in his teens, Edward Felix lost a leg in a railroad switching
accident and made his own wooden legs. I have many wonderful stories,
but few statistical details.
I have been through the 1860 and 1870 census films for Meade, Bullitt,
Hardin, and Jefferson counties. The entries that might have furnished
clues were so badly faded that I could not decifer the critical names.
I will be passing through Louisville the second week of November and plan

I am seeking the family of my g-grandmother, Martha Jane ANDERSON who
married George W. CRANE in Greene Co., IN in 1853. Martha appears to
have just shown up from nowhere as she is not located on the 1850 census.
1860 IN census shows Martha and George CRANE in Monroe Co., IN with 3
young children. Martha is listed as age 23 and born in KY. The 1850
Hardin Co., KY census shows a Martha and James ANDERSON in household #390
with Silas J. THOMPSON age 26. There are 17 individuals in this home
between the ages of 26 and 1-month old. What type of home is this? The
last names are THOMPSON, ANDERSON, and MCMILLEN. Are they all related?
James ANDERSON is 14, Martha is 12. All through census, my Martha's age
indicates she was born in 1837. However, her tombstone states April 12,
1835. No death certificate was filed in Monroe Co., IN even though she
died in 1898. I would greatly appreciate any info about this census
