Welcome!!!
The purpose of our club is to promote interest in the lapidary arts and earth sciences and to broaden knowledge through the medium of regular meetings, programs or speakers, demonstrations, field trips and social activities.
Our Club Offers:
- Instruction in the cutting and polishing of stones, periodic classes in faceting, silverwork, wire wrapped jewelry, and mineral or fossil study.
- Workshop sessions on Mondays from 6 PM to 9 PM and on Wednesdays from 9 AM to Noon.
- Monthly business meetings (except in July and August) with educational programs, auctions and fun.
- Community education through speakers and demonstrations for schools and other groups.
- Monthly newsletter, Serendipty Gems, with local club news and activities of the Midwest Federation and other clubs.
- A library which features reference books, lapidary journals and other educational material.
- Field trips to collect minerals, fossils, geodes.
- A very active Junior Rockhound Club (was voted best in the nation two years in a row!) for young people aged 9-16.
- A Gem, Mineral, Fossil and Jewelry Show each Autumn at Washington Square Mall.
- And much, much, more!!!
Annual Dues: Single---$20.00, Couple---$36.00, Associate---$5.00, Iniation Fee---$2.00, Jr. Rockhounds---No Dues. Please Come Join Us!
