Wore fan-cy clothes, drove big cars. Flashed lots of mon-ey, and smoked big ci-gars. Broke hearts with my rov-ing eye. Then one day I asked my-self "Why?" Quit lik-ing those things I did. Stu-pid-ly act-ing like I was a kid. I'd dug my-self in a hole. Knew the dev-il would own my soul. And that's when I said my prayer, My lies and sins lay bare. I prayed for help to guide my ways, To a bet-ter life with brigh-ter days. Now I thank God ev-ery day. Don't have to wor-ry the Dev-il to pay. A-shamed of what I had been. Wish I could be free of all sin. And now when I say my prayer, My lies and sins lay bare. I pray for help to guide my ways, To a bet-ter life with brigh-ter days Copyright 2000 By: Arnold Shulman/Glenn Smith (All rights reserved)
